Anyone can create a PACER account, but there are fees associated with accessing documents from the dockets there. If you are a member of the law school's faculty, staff, or students, the Law Library can help you set up an account with Bloomberg Law, which offers access to all PACER content through its dockets search.
For a very recent case, you might also check the court's website. As courts move increasingly to e-filing, many are making the filings available, when possible, on their website for free. The United States Supreme Court, for example, has a docket search for materials from the 2001 term to present.
